GPH was established in 2004 as an international port operator with a diversified portfolio of cruise and commercial ports. As an independent cruise port operator, the group holds a unique position in the cruise port landscape, positioning itself as the world’s leading cruise port brand, with an integrated platform of cruise ports serving cruise liners, ferries, yachts and mega-yachts. GPH operates 21 ports, including one commercial ports, in 13 different countries on 4 continents and continues to grow steadily. GPH provides services for c.14 million passengers annually, with a dominant position in the Mediterranean (reaching a market share of 24%) and a foothold in the Caribbean and Asia. GPH also operates strategically located port that handle commercial business. The Group is majority owner of the Port of Adria in Montenegro, a vital link in the chain of intermodal transport in the Balkans.

Global Ports Holding Plc is 62.5% owned by Global Ports Holding B.V., which is a wholly owned subsidiary of Global Investment Holdings (GIH). Centricus Partners LP, which holds 31.25% of the shares in GIH, and its affiliates have 2.3% of the GPH shares. The remaining 35.2% of the total issued share capital represents free float on the London Stock Exchange (LSE).
